Fix a Slow Running Computer
Written by CoffeeMaker on September 10th, 2008If your computer crashes unexpectedly, or runs really slowly whenever you try to open applications, or takes ages to startup and then just ‘hangs’ then you may need to clean the registry. Whilst there are a number of ways to fix a slow running computer performing a registry clean is probably the simplest and could be the most effective as it is often registry problems which cause a computer to behave strangely!
To fix a slow running computer by cleaning the registry you need to get a registry cleaner. The registry is a hierarchical database of settings that is used by the operating system (be it Vista or XP) to store configuration information, application, hardware and software information. If you open an application the registry gets information added and this process goes on for every application that is opened in your system. Over time, the registry can get cluttered with out of date or no longer relevant information which needs clearing out regularly - and a registry cleaner will do this for you - removing any inconsistencies in the registry and therefore enhancing the performance of your system. The first step is to perform a scan (which is usually free once the software is downloaded) which will report back the number and type of errors. The second step is to perform a cleanup which in will delete the various unnecessary entries in the registry.
A good registry cleaner also will perform registry backups before deleting unused or in error registry entries so that if you ever need any particular registry entry in the near future, you can restore it immediately.
A good registry cleaner will also delete any registry entries made by spyware and adware programs to provide some sort of network protection - however it is recommended to always run an antivirus or internet security program. Nine times out of ten running a registry clean will fix a slow running computer.

Hey I face the same problem too! It’s really irritating. When it gets real bad, what I do is just run a computer check up. That usually does the trick in solving all these issues. You might want to give it a try too, i believe its free at http://www.pcaholic.com.
